About the role#
WSP is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Intern to join our North Carolina Transportation Team in Mooresville for the Summer 2027 term. This 12-week program allows you to work alongside senior staff on major transportation projects, including interstate reconstruction and bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure design. This is an on-site position.
What you'll do#
You will support various engineering tasks to build your technical and professional skills. Your daily work includes assisting with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations. You will also help prepare final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions. You will maintain project documentation, complete assigned training, and follow company policies regarding conduct and safety.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Interest in transportation design and a desire to advance your skills
- Ability to take direction from mentors and managers
- Proficiency with technical writing, spreadsheets, and office software
- Experience with Microstation or OpenRoads Designer is preferred
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred
- Commitment to workplace safety and professional conduct
