About the role#
WSP is hiring a full-time Bridge Inspection Intern for the Summer 2027 program. This 12-week internship offers hands-on experience working alongside senior staff on real projects. You will gain exposure to the engineering field while participating in the Developing Professionals Network for mentorship and networking.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to develop technical and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
- Assist with field work, project research, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Follow company policies and the WSP Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD program in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Interest in bridge inspection and a desire to advance your skills.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Experience with Excel and AutoCAD is preferred.
- A history of workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience.
- Strong communication skills to interact with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
- Primary location is Exton, Pennsylvania, with additional availability in Philadelphia, Bethlehem, and Ephrata, Pennsylvania.
- The program is scheduled to begin on May 17, 2027, though individual start dates may be flexible.
- No relocation or housing assistance is provided.
