About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at Wize Solutions, you will work directly with the CTO to research, prototype, and build tools that solve real business problems. This role focuses on software engineering, automation, and R&D rather than traditional IT support. You will help replace manual spreadsheets and disconnected software with a modern technology platform built around Acumatica. You will have ownership over projects and the freedom to propose technical approaches that impact our Operations, Sales, and Leadership teams.
What you'll do#
- Research emerging AI tools and prototype them against actual business challenges.
- Build and test AI-assisted tools and automations to remove repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
- Connect internal systems to Acumatica using REST APIs, webhooks, and other integration technologies.
- Collaborate with the CTO on special R&D projects and present your findings.
- Write concise, practical documentation for the integrations and processes you build.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to write and debug software in at least two programming languages.
- A basic understanding of APIs and how software systems communicate.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break complex tasks into manageable steps.
- Experience with Git or a willingness to learn version control systems.
- A genuine interest in AI and experience experimenting with AI tools or coding assistants.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Sandy, Utah.
- The role is paid at $20 to $25 per hour.
- This is an ongoing, rolling internship with a flexible schedule of 15 to 25 hours per week.
