About the role#
Williams International is hiring a Computer Science Intern for the summer of 2027. You will join the Operations and Development team to support systems within Product Support. This position focuses on building user interfaces and improving existing code bases to help our business operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the team to implement new software systems.
- Develop PHP pages and code to support API integration.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to report key performance metrics.
- Work on projects to improve user efficiency with ERP transactions.
- Maintain software source control repositories for Product Support projects.
- Participate in problem-solving sessions and brainstorming discussions.
- Conduct independent research on new tools and techniques.
- Communicate your findings through reports and presentations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to provide analytical insights.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or related degree program with at least 60 credit hours completed (junior, senior, or Master’s standing).
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in web languages for user interaction and API integration.
- Familiarity with software source control tools like Git.
- Ability to solve complex programming challenges independently.
- A self-motivated approach and a drive to learn new concepts.
- Basic understanding of data visualization tools such as Dash, Plotly, or Power BI is a plus.
- Experience with SQL, data querying, and data preprocessing is desirable.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, 40-hour per week internship.
- You must be able to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan.
