About the role#
This is a summer internship for students pursuing a graduate degree. You will join the software engineering team in Mountain View to work on the simulation and data pipelines that power our autonomous driving technology. This position is full-time and requires a hybrid on-site presence.
What you'll do#
- Design and build multimodal data pipelines using Python or C++.
- Combine vehicle sensor data and 3D map data for machine learning models.
- Prototype and iterate on Vision-Language Model workflows to categorize real-world driving scenarios.
- Build ground-truth evaluation datasets and measure model precision and recall.
- Improve detection accuracy and integrate automated labeling pipelines into data storage and simulation testing workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a MS or PhD program in a quantitative or technical field, such as Computer Science.
- Strong programming skills in Python or C++.
- Experience with data analysis, SQL, and basic statistics.
- Experience with computer vision, Vision-Language Models, or prompt engineering is preferred.
- Familiarity with 3D geometry, coordinate transforms, or sensor data processing.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets or distributed data pipelines.

- Term: Summer 2027.

- Compensation: $70 per hour for Masters students and $85 per hour for PhD students.
