    About the role#

    We are looking for a PhD student to join our team as a Software Engineer for a summer internship. You will work on simulation projects that support our autonomous driving technology. This is a full-time, paid position based in Mountain View, California.

    What you'll do#

    • Implement uncertainty aware algorithms to improve transformer-based multi-task classifiers.
    • Manage changes end-to-end, from implementation through evaluation.
    • Verify that data and model implementations align with your experiment plan.
    • Focus on the technical mechanics of the modeling setup.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
    • Strong programming skills in Python.
    • Practical experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or JAX.
    • A solid grasp of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals.
    • Experience debugging transformer models using TensorBoard metrics.
    • Familiarity with software development best practices and version control.
    • Preference for candidates with experience in uncertainty measurement or using data to drive model performance improvements.

    • Compensation: $85 per hour.
