About the role#
The Predictive Planning team works on machine learning solutions that predict the future state of the world and plan vehicle behavior. As a PhD intern, you will join this team to transform driving data into neural networks that help our vehicles navigate complex environments. This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Research, implement, and evaluate generative models for planning and predictions using JAX.
- Conduct experiments with machine learning models.
- Produce high-quality, tested code.
- Collaborate with research, product, and engineering teams to introduce new research concepts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience with deep learning or reinforcement learning.
- Hands-on experience with modern deep learning libraries such as JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Programming skills in Python or C++.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Preference for candidates with publications in conferences like ICML, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, IROS, CoRL, ACL, or EMNLP.
- Preference for prior research or software development industry experience.
