About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will apply knowledge from their formal education to real-world projects. You will work under close supervision to complete routine engineering tasks, prepare designs, and support senior team members. This role is based in an interdisciplinary environment where you will contribute to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and control systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine engineering tasks including basic plans, calculations, and drawings using Revit or other design software.
- Assist in modifying existing designs and suggest changes to materials or approvals.
- Conduct routine technical surveys and help prepare field inspection reports and project correspondence.
- Collaborate with experienced technical personnel on specific aspects of complex tasks.
- Develop a working knowledge of national and provincial building codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
- Support the engineering team by completing assigned tasks and meeting project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or recent graduation from such a program.
- Proficiency in engineering and office software, specifically Revit and CAD tools.
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established procedures and work under close supervision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
