About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will apply academic knowledge to practical, interdisciplinary engineering projects. Working under close supervision, you will gain hands-on experience in design, technical reporting, and field work while supporting senior team members in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine engineering tasks, including preparing basic plans, designs, calculations, and drawings.
- Assist in modifying existing designs and suggest changes for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and control systems.
- Conduct routine technical surveys and assist in the preparation of field inspection reports, correspondence, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with experienced technical personnel on complex project tasks.
- Develop a working knowledge of national and provincial building codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
- Execute assigned tasks in compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree or recent graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in engineering and office software, including Revit and CAD.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to follow established procedures and work effectively under close supervision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
