About the role#
Wade Trim is hiring an Engineering Summer Intern for our Construction group in Tampa. This full-time internship is for Summer 2027. You will work on-site to assist our project teams with daily construction operations and technical reporting.
What you'll do#
- Interpret project plans and specifications.
- Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities.
- Perform field or laboratory material tests.
- Maintain project files and record drawings.
- Prepare construction reports and project status updates.
- Perform soil erosion and sediment control inspections.
- Review technical data to ensure it meets project requirements.
- Assist with cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
- Help review the scope, budget, and schedule of project tasks.
- Monitor task budgets and progress.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals.
- Support Project Managers with daily tasks.
- Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings.
- Participate in seminars and training classes.
- Maintain excellent client relations and a safe working environment.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering, or concrete technology. Sophomore or junior status is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated and organized work habits.
- Excellent communication skills.
