About the role#
Wade Trim is hiring an Engineering Summer Intern for the Industrial Commercial Energy group in Grand Rapids. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site and collaborate with various departments, including Planning, Design, and Hydraulics and Hydrology.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine calculations under the guidance of a senior engineer.
- Analyze continuous flow and rainfall data.
- Assist engineers with the development of spreadsheet tools.
- Obtain project drawings from local municipalities.
- Handle administrative tasks such as copying and scanning project drawings.
- Work alongside project managers and engineering staff.
- Communicate with staff and clients while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Ensure a safe working environment at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, with a preference for freshman or sophomore status.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
- Clear communication skills.
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is a plus.
