About the role#
The Supply Chain Optimization Co-op position is part of the Demand and Inventory Planning and Operational Planning North America team. This role supports the team by building and enhancing supply chain data analytics tools. You will work alongside full-time professionals on projects within the Service Market Logistics organization, providing an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Leverage Power BI, Python, and R to visualize demand and inventory data.
- Develop and improve data structures to enhance accessibility, quality, and efficiency.
- Improve existing supply chain optimization models, including total cost and forecast parameters, using Python or R.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Participate in professional activities for Volvo Group Service Market Logistics.
- Provide project updates and formal presentations to peers and management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with visualization tools like Power BI and programming languages such as R or Python.
- Interest in a professional career in logistics, supply chain management, or data science.

- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (up to 40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid position ($17.00 - $46.00 per hour).
