About the role#
The Buyer intern position within the Trucks Technology & Industrial Division offers students the chance to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting. This role supports the purchasing department in improving the supplier base to meet customer needs. Interns will assist with project management, data analysis, and negotiations while working onsite in Greensboro, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Support the evaluation of current supply base performance.
- Help minimize supply chain disturbances by identifying and steering improvements.
- Ensure suppliers deliver components according to company specifications.
- Act as an interface between operation plants and suppliers during production.
- Manage supplier relationship activities, including meetings, documentation, and feedback.
- Support buyers with daily tasks such as issuing Requests for Quotations (RFQ’s), running reports, and creating dashboards.
- Participate in internal and supplier team meetings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize results regarding cost, quality, delivery, and features.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Experience with Power BI and Power Automate is considered a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and a focus on teamwork.

- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 17th to December 11th).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Availability: Up to 30 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17.00 - $46.00 per hour, depending on factors such as academic classification and area of study.
