About the role#
We are looking for a Sales Intern to join our Outside Sales Team in Edmonton. You will gain practical experience in construction sales by supporting customer engagement, project research, and territory initiatives. You will work alongside Regional Sales Managers and experienced professionals to connect with contractors, engineers, and distributors. This role offers mentorship and the chance to take ownership of project work that supports our sales organization.
What you'll do#
- Support customer and project activities, including sales calls, jobsite visits, and contractor meetings.
- Research construction projects and market opportunities to help identify potential customers and next steps.
- Complete a strategic summer project that creates practical value for the sales team.
- Develop an analytics or data-quality project to improve decision-making.
- Build account and stakeholder insights by gathering market intelligence.
- Develop technical and commercial knowledge of our markets, products, and selling strategies.
- Collaborate with sales leaders to strengthen your communication and business development skills.
- Present your project findings and recommendations to sales leadership at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- You are preparing to enter your final year of study in a university or college degree program.
- Preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong interest in building a career in sales, business development, or the construction industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships.
- Analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive approach, willingness to learn, and the ability to take initiative.
- A collaborative mindset and professional demeanor.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Edmonton region.
