About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term based on-site in Pelzer, South Carolina. You will work within the mechanical and thermal engineering team to support the design and integration of infrastructure systems for data centers and industrial facilities.
What you'll do#
- Support the Lead Mechanical Engineer with conceptual and detailed designs for HVAC and ventilation systems.
- Create documentation including Schematic Design, Detail Design, and Construction Drawing narratives.
- Perform thermal transfer calculations and simple CFD analysis.
- Ensure designs meet quality standards and budget limits.
- Coordinate with local agencies to maintain compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Review mechanical product submittals and support integration companies with layout drawings and material specifications.
- Provide technical support for information requests during construction phases.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal studies.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of AutoDesk software, specifically AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with CFD software such as 6Sigma is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
