About the role#
We are looking for an intern to join our mechanical engineering team for the Summer 2027 term. You will support the design and development of liquid cooling systems. This role provides exposure to our internal modeling standards and product lifecycle management workflows.
What you'll do#
- Assist the team with conceptual and detailed design elements for thermal systems.
- Create designs that meet quality and budget requirements.
- Review mechanical product specifications and requirements.
- Create bills of material and change orders.
- Conduct simple CFD and FEA analysis.
- Create CAD layouts, component detail drawings, and system models.
- Participate in test design and data reduction for thermal products.
- Work with business units and vendors to select and source mechanical components.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate or graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a thermal focus.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD modeling software such as Solidworks, Solid Edge, or CREO.
- Experience with advanced modeling software for finite element analysis, flow modeling, and system dynamics like ANSYS, MatLab, or Simulink.
- Ability to research new designs, technologies, and methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
