About the role#
As an Innovation Lab Intern, you will support technical initiatives within the lab. You will gain exposure to power and thermal management technologies, laboratory testing operations, and the application of AI tools to improve engineering workflows. This role is for those interested in how AI technologies can enhance engineering productivity, knowledge sharing, and decision-making.
What you'll do#
- Work with engineers and lab personnel to understand test activities, equipment, and operational workflows.
- Develop and maintain a custom AI agent as a knowledge assistant for technical documentation.
- Expand AI agent capabilities to assist with system troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Evaluate and improve AI assistant performance through prompt engineering, retrieval optimization, and user feedback analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- A strong foundation in mechanical or electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to apply first-principles reasoning and systems thinking to analyze complex systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a team setting.
