About the role#
We are seeking an Innovation Lab Engineering Intern to support technical initiatives in our lab. This role provides exposure to power and thermal management technologies, laboratory testing operations, and the use of AI tools to improve engineering workflows. You will work alongside engineers and lab personnel to understand testing procedures and operational workflows.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain a custom AI agent to serve as a knowledge assistant.
- Improve access to technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering standards.
- Expand the agent capabilities to assist with system troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Evaluate and refine AI assistant performance through prompt engineering, retrieval optimization, and user feedback analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- A strong foundation in mechanical or electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to apply first-principles reasoning and systems thinking to analyze complex, interconnected systems.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a professional communication style.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
