About the role#
Vertiv’s Global Risk Oversight (GRO) function is looking for a summer intern to join our team in Westerville. This role provides hands-on experience with internal audit, financial and operational controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. You will work alongside our professionals to support audit activities, develop business knowledge, and contribute recommendations that strengthen our risk mitigation and control systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with audit and SOX procedures, including walkthrough support, evidence collection, sampling, control testing, and documentation.
- Develop an understanding of core financial, operational, and support processes.
- Support background research, risk identification, and the development of audit steps.
- Prepare workpapers, process narratives, and testing summaries.
- Use Excel and data analysis tools to organize information and identify trends.
- Summarize testing observations and help develop practical recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with financial, operational, and IT teams.
- Contribute ideas to improve audit efficiency and internal control awareness.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to work independently on defined assignments and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
- Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, professionalism, discretion, and a willingness to learn.
