About the role#
Vertiv is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the IT Solutions engineering team. You will support the design, testing, and validation of power distribution and electrical systems for rack and row-based infrastructure. This role focuses on products that support high-density compute and AI-driven data center applications. You will work alongside senior engineers on system integration and hardware development throughout the product lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Assist with electrical design reviews and provide feedback on power distribution systems.
- Support component selection, evaluation, and specification activities.
- Build and validate prototypes in the engineering lab.
- Perform electrical testing and document results with clear, thorough reporting.
- Support power distribution and load calculations.
- Help maintain electrical schematics, drawings, and engineering files.
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and controls engineers on integrated system designs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of at least sophomore year of coursework.
- Foundational understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and electronics.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a lab environment.
- Self-motivated approach with the ability to take initiative.
