About the role#
The Construction Technology Intern supports the implementation and improvement of technology solutions across our construction operations. This role provides hands-on exposure to software, field technology, surveying equipment, machine control systems, drones, and data analytics tools designed to improve project performance. You will work alongside field operations, project management, and engineering teams to apply these tools to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the implementation and support of construction technology platforms in both field and office environments.
- Support the adoption of tools through training and field coaching.
- Document technology processes, workflows, and best practices.
- Support GPS machine control operations, data management, and site layout activities.
- Collect, organize, and validate field data.
- Participate in machine control file preparation and quality reviews.
- Assist with drone flight planning, data collection, and processing.
- Support aerial mapping, progress tracking, and site documentation.
- Create project visualizations, ortho mosaics, and progress reports.
- Gather and organize project performance data for dashboards and reporting.
- Analyze operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and superintendents.
What you'll need#
- At least 2 years of education toward a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- At least one summer of construction work experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
- Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and averages.
- Ability to respond to shifting priorities in a busy environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Rogers, Minnesota.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Work is on-site, with occasional travel to job sites required.
