About the role#
The Engineering Intern will perform entry level technical duties to support our engineering and quality teams. You will assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of technical documents while creating ad hoc reports. This role provides hands-on experience by applying your studies in chemical, industrial, electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering to real-world projects under the supervision of plant leadership.
What you'll do#
- Optimize current processes as assigned by the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Engineer.
- Enhance operational equipment efficiency (OEE).
- Create or modify standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform line and process audits using the plant Quality Management System (QMS).
- Assist in writing authorization for expenditures (AFEs).
- Engage in time motion studies.
- Participate in facility meetings, teams, and initiatives that support operations and quality systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or college degree program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to compile and record data accurately with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Tools.
- Ability to multi-task in a work environment.
- A proactive approach to identifying improvements for processes, systems, and documentation.
