As a Student Nurse Assistant, you will work alongside nursing staff to care for acutely ill patients. This year-round position provides an opportunity to gain clinical experience in a hospital setting while networking with nursing staff and leadership. Managers work with students to accommodate academic schedules, with a minimum requirement of one 8-12 hour shift per week.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct physical care to patients in situations requiring demonstrated competency and technique.
- Work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Engage with nursing staff and leadership to support patient care.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science).
- Successful completion of the program’s hands-on entry-level clinical course.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous health care experience is preferred.
- Completion of the SNA Supplemental Packet is required for consideration.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: This is a part-time, year-round position. Typical commitment is 20% FTE (16 hours per pay period), generally including every other weekend. Shifts may include days, evenings, or nights, and may involve holidays and weekends depending on department needs.
- Compensation: $19/hour, plus additional differentials for weekend, evening, and night shifts.
