About the role#
As a Student Nurse Assistant (SNA) on the Peds General Med/Surg unit, you will work alongside nursing staff to provide care for acutely ill patients. This is a year-round, part-time position designed to offer hands-on experience in a hospital setting while remaining flexible to accommodate your school schedule.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct physical care to patients in situations where thorough knowledge of technique and demonstrated competency are required.
- Work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse when providing patient care.
- Participate in a role that requires a minimum of one 8-12 hour shift per week, with opportunities to pick up additional hours based on availability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science).
- Successful completion of the program’s hands-on entry-level clinical course.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous health care experience is preferred.
- Completion of the SNA Supplemental Packet is required for consideration.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Primarily 20% FTE (16 hours per pay period), generally every other weekend. Shifts include 8 or 12 hours, with potential for day, evening, or night scheduling. Holidays and weekends may be required.
- Compensation: $18/hour plus differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
