About the role#
As a Student Nurse Assistant (SNA) on the P5 Peds General Med/Surg unit, you will work closely with nursing staff to provide care for acutely ill patients. This is a year-round position that offers the opportunity to gain clinical experience in a hospital setting while balancing your academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct physical care to patients in situations where thorough knowledge of technique and demonstration of competency are required.
- Work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse when caring for patients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science).
- Successful completion of the program’s hands-on entry-level clinical course.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous health care experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This role requires a minimum of one 8-12 hour shift per week, with the option to pick up additional hours. The position is 20% FTE (16 hours per pay period) and generally involves working every other weekend. Shifts may include days, evenings, or nights, and may involve holiday work based on department needs.
- Compensation: $18 per hour, plus additional differentials for weekend, evening, and night shifts.
