About the role#
As a Student Nurse Assistant (SNA) on the P4 Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Neuroscience, ENT, and Plastics unit, you will work closely with nursing staff to provide care for acutely ill patients. This is a year-round, paid position designed to provide hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct physical care to patients in situations where thorough knowledge of technique and demonstrated competency is required.
- Work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse while caring for patients.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, with a minimum requirement of one 8-12 hour shift per week, with opportunities to pick up additional hours based on department needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science).
- Successful completion of the program’s hands-on entry-level clinical course.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous health care experience is preferred.
- Completion of the SNA Supplemental Packet is required for consideration.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Primarily 20% FTE (16 hours per pay period), generally every other weekend. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and holidays depending on operational needs.
- Compensation: $18/hour, plus additional differentials for weekend, evening, and night shifts.
