About the role#
As a Student Nurse Assistant (SNA) on the P4 Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Neuroscience, ENT, and Plastics unit, you will work closely with nursing staff to care for acutely ill patients. This is a year-round, paid position designed to provide first-hand clinical experience in a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct physical care to patients in situations where thorough knowledge of technique and demonstration of competency is required.
- Work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse when caring for patients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science).
- Successful completion of the program’s hands-on entry-level clinical course.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous health care experience is preferred.
- Completion of the SNA Supplemental Packet is required for consideration.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This is a part-time, year-round position with a primary requirement of 16 hours per pay period (20% FTE). Shifts generally include every other weekend, with availability for day, evening, or night shifts. Managers coordinate hours around school schedules.
