About the role#
This is a paid, 8-week summer internship for nursing students. You will work in the Intensive Critical Care Unit as a Nurse Extern. The program runs from June 14, 2027, to August 7, 2027. You will work 36 to 40 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts. You must be flexible to work either day or night shifts to match the schedule of your assigned preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Perform patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist patients with personal care to support their recovery.
- Perform basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN.
- Maintain a safe environment and ensure the safe delivery of care.
- Keep your clinical skills and competencies current throughout the program.
What you'll need#
- You must be a nursing student entering your last year of school.
- Your graduation date must fall between December 2027 and May 2028.
- BSN students must have completed their 3rd year.
- ASN students must have completed their 1st year.
