About the role#
This Nurse Extern position in the Emergency Department offers nursing students hands-on experience in a clinical setting. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support patient care and administrative operations. The program runs for 8 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform patient care and administrative support tasks as delegated by an RN.
- Assist patients with personal care to support their recovery.
- Ensure a safe environment and the safe delivery of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and team members to improve patient care processes.
- Partner with patients and families to address concerns.
- Maintain required skills and competencies while monitoring daily operations.
- Help conduct departmental meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a nursing program with a graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- BSN students must have finished their 3rd year, or ASN students must have finished their 1st year.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour day or night shifts to match your assigned preceptor.
- Ability to work 36-40 hours per week.

- Pay: $17.28 per hour.
