    About the role#

    The Advocacy and Partnerships Intern supports the team in research, engagement, and project coordination. You will help advance policy initiatives and strengthen legislative and community relationships to support the mission of Upbring.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct legislative research and track policy developments regarding child wellbeing.
    • Review interim reports, studies, and legislative committee charges related to child welfare.
    • Monitor and analyze legislation, regulatory matters, and executive orders.
    • Assist with grassroots advocacy efforts using Voter Voice, including campaign support and supporter engagement.
    • Research opportunities for partnerships, coalitions, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Create content for social media, educational materials, and communications to support policy priorities.
    • Help coordinate advocacy projects and handle administrative tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Journalism, Social Work, or a related field.
    • Strong research and analytical skills with a focus on detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
    • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well within a team.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the advocacy team.

    • This position is located in Austin, Texas.
    • This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
    • The term is rolling.
