About the role#
The Free Expression, Intellectual Freedom, & Constructive Dialogue Program supports students, faculty, and staff in developing dialogue skills and understanding academic freedoms. As a Program Aid, you will work directly with the program director to plan campus events, manage outreach, and handle daily office operations. This role offers practical experience in higher education administration, event coordination, and professional communications.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and promoting workshops, speaker programs, and educational activities.
- Draft announcements and maintain program calendars.
- Design flyers, presentations, and reports to support program initiatives.
- Update web and social media content.
- Track program participation and outreach data.
- Prepare materials and logistics for Advisory Board meetings.
- Conduct basic research on topics related to intellectual and academic freedom.
- Provide event-day support, including setup and documentation through photography or videography.
- Manage electronic and physical files and deliver materials across campus.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled University of Wyoming student in good academic standing.
- Must be eligible for and have accepted a work study award.
- Proficiency with Canva and the ability to create professional-quality visual communications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Preferred: Experience with event planning, social marketing, graphic design, or office administration.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, or iMovie.
- Preferred: An interest in intellectual, academic, and expressive freedoms.
