About the role#
The Work Study Farm and Ranch Worker supports the Rodeo department by assisting with livestock care and facility maintenance. This role provides hands-on experience in farm and ranch management, equipment operation, and problem solving while working alongside Rodeo student athletes, coaches, and university faculty.
What you'll do#
- Join the Weekend Feed Crew to sort, doctor, and feed livestock.
- Operate a skid steer to clean animal housing facilities.
- Perform general repairs on fences and other facility infrastructure.
- Provide support to campus customers and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a University of Wyoming student with an accepted Work Study Award.
- Previous experience with livestock handling and equipment operation.
- A valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record compliant with university business requirements.
- Ability to drive and back up a truck and trailer.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to utilize resources to overcome challenges.

- Location: Hansen Arena and LREC in Laramie, Wyoming.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position requiring work at 7,220 feet above sea level.
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
- Term: Rolling.
