About the role#
The Education Abroad Office at the University of Wyoming provides administrative and peer advising support to students. This role promotes study abroad programs, assists with student engagement, and handles daily office operations. It is a part-time position for students with a work-study award.
What you'll do#
- Greet visitors at the Cheney International Center front desk and answer phone calls.
- Monitor and respond to email inquiries.
- Schedule student advising meetings and manage conference room calendars.
- Conduct peer advising for current and prospective students.
- Give Education Abroad 101 classroom presentations and assist with tabling events.
- Assist with marketing tasks, including social media, email campaigns, and website updates.
- Support the coordination of photo contests and send promotional materials to international partner institutions.
- Manage prospective student data and email lists.
- Restock office supplies and complete special projects using tools like Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Canva, and MailChimp.
What you'll need#
- Must be a currently enrolled University of Wyoming student with an accepted work-study award.
- Ability to work on campus during business hours.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A willingness to learn about Education Abroad programs and services.
- Experience with social media, digital marketing, or administrative support is helpful.
- Comfort speaking in group settings or on the phone.
- Prior experience with event planning or peer leadership is a plus.
- Familiarity with Canva, MailChimp, YouTube, or Google Suite is preferred.
- Candidates who have completed one or more University of Wyoming study abroad programs are encouraged to apply.
