About the role#
The Wyoming Natural Diversity Database (WYNDD) is looking for a Data Assistant to help with biological research and data management. This position supports our work with species and vegetation communities of conservation concern. You will gain experience in lab work, research methods, and data analysis while working alongside scientists and graduate students.
What you'll do#
- Perform data entry and filing tasks.
- Sort aquatic invertebrates and insects.
- Pin pollinators and assist with other invertebrate research.
- Manage data related to Wyoming species and vegetation communities.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current University of Wyoming student.
- You must be eligible for and have accepted a work study award through Student Financial Aid.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An interest in wildlife, aquatic ecosystems, botany, or vegetation communities is preferred.
- We value attention to detail, consistency, and a willingness to learn.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
- Work takes place at the Berry Center and the Physical Sciences building.
- This is a part-time, paid position at a rate of $13.00 per hour.
- There is a possibility for summer employment as a biological technician.
