About the role#
The Student Baker role supports Dining Services by preparing large volumes of bakery goods for the campus community. This position is open to students across various disciplines, including Civil Engineering, Nutrition, Agriculture, Business Administration, and Chemistry. This is a paid, on-site, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare large volumes of bakery goods in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Operate bakery equipment and utensils according to safety procedures.
- Carry and distribute baking supplies such as flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- Assist with kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, food portioning, and the final display of goods.
- Prepare made-to-order items, including frosting, icing, and decorating.
- Organize products for delivery by counting and loading goods onto caddies.
- Determine ingredient quantities needed to fulfill specific food service orders.
What you'll need#
- A GED or be currently working towards one.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift, twist, and carry 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Laramie, Wyoming.
- Work must be performed on-site at the University of Wyoming campus.
