About the role#
The University of Wyoming is hiring a Multimedia Reporter-Anchor to join its Student Media team. This role functions as a journalist who researches, writes, and reports content for television, digital, and social media platforms. You will represent Student Media both on camera and in the community while maintaining professional journalistic standards.
What you'll do#
- Research, write, and present news and feature stories for student broadcast products.
- Serve as an on-air anchor, reporter, host, or correspondent for live and recorded productions.
- Conduct interviews and gather information for multimedia stories.
- Write clear, accurate, and engaging scripts.
- Collaborate with producers, videographers, and other staff to create content.
- Attend editorial meetings and maintain regular office hours of at least 5 hours per week.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a University of Wyoming student.
- Ability to write clear and accurate broadcast scripts.
- Comfort speaking on camera or a willingness to develop these presentation skills.
- Willingness to learn broadcast production techniques and newsroom workflows.
- Previous experience in journalism, broadcasting, or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Laramie, Wyoming.
- The term for this role begins in Fall 2026, with a start date of August 24, 2026.
- This is a paid, full-time student position.
