About the role#
The Cross-Platform Media Coordinator provides student leadership for integrated student media organizations at the University of Wyoming. This position coordinates operations, encourages collaboration among editorial teams, and supports strategic initiatives to enhance student learning and audience engagement while maintaining editorial independence.
What you'll do#
- Oversee student media operations, workflow, and production schedules.
- Coordinate editorial direction, strategic priorities, and content standards through weekly leadership meetings.
- Facilitate collaboration between newspaper, digital, social media, and broadcast teams, including the Branding Iron, BI Digital, and WyoWire.
- Support recruitment, mentorship, and professional development for student staff.
- Serve as a point of contact for the adviser, sales manager, production coordinator, business manager, and the Communication and Journalism Department.
- Attend weekly meetings with the supervisor and student staff, and participate in Student Media Board meetings as an ex-officio member.
What you'll need#
- Must be a currently enrolled University of Wyoming student with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Working knowledge of print, digital, social media, or broadcast media operations.
- Ability to mentor student employees, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical journalism and professional standards.
- Preferred experience includes previous student media leadership, project management, AP Style knowledge, and familiarity with content management systems.
Location & details#
- Location: Laramie, Wyoming.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Start Date: August 24, 2026.
- Modality: On-site. This role requires at least 20 hours of work per week, with a minimum of 15 hours scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Status: Paid, full-time position.
