About the role#
The Investment Analyst role at the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO) provides an opportunity to work within a flat, collaborative team. Analysts support the management of a $16 billion endowment portfolio by researching global investment themes and evaluating external managers across a wide range of asset classes, including public equity, private equity, hedge funds, and real estate.
What you'll do#
- Research global investment themes and conduct due diligence on external managers.
- Perform quantitative analysis to evaluate current and prospective investment strategies.
- Source, track, and evaluate new investment opportunities.
- Monitor existing portfolio holdings and assess their performance against expectations.
- Prepare and present investment recommendations to senior staff and the investment committee.
- Participate in diligence meetings, including domestic and international travel to meet with managers.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate degree, with a preference for finance, economics, mathematics, data science, business administration, or engineering disciplines.
- Between 0 and 2 years of professional experience.
- A demonstrated passion for investing and global markets.
- Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The position is based on-site in Charlottesville, Virginia.
