Student AV Tech

About the role#

The Student AV Tech provides operational, first-line support for audio-visual and computer issues within teaching and learning spaces. This role serves as a direct point of contact for faculty and students to resolve technology challenges in classrooms and conference rooms, acting as an escalation point for the IT Classroom AV Operations Team.

What you'll do#

• Troubleshoot standard audio/video systems, signal pathways, and basic computer software, including Microsoft Teams.
• Assist with the ongoing operations and maintenance of technology in classrooms and conference rooms.
• Provide training to faculty on the use of media-rich classroom equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a USF student.
• Ability to provide at least 16 hours of availability per week.
• A current student class schedule.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds for the transport of equipment.
• A modern cell phone capable of checking email, receiving calls, and running Microsoft Teams.

Location & details#

• Location: Tampa, Florida.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Schedule: Shifts available between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
• Hours: Maximum of 20 hours per week.
• Compensation: $15 per hour.
• Work Modality: On-site.
