About the role#
The Service Desk Student Technician role at the University of South Florida provides Level I technical support for the university community. This is a student temporary position that requires a minimum of 18 hours of work per week, with hours scheduled between Monday and Sunday.
What you'll do#
- Provide Level I support for hardware, software, and end-user inquiries through phone, chat, email, and in-person interactions.
- Create and manage trouble tickets using the IT Service Management ticketing system.
- Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions, including requests, technical issues, actions taken, and case resolutions.
- Support system software used by the USF community and affiliates.
- Demonstrate an understanding of computer systems and peripheral equipment.
What you'll need#
- Must be a currently enrolled USF student and able to provide a class schedule.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of general office experience (college coursework or vocational training may substitute for experience).
- One year of professional computing experience.
- Experience with Windows 7-11 and Mac OS X.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team and manage a high workload.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
