About the role#
USF Youth Experiences is seeking a Federal Work Study student to serve as a Social Media Assistant. This role focuses on developing digital content and supporting the social media presence of youth programs, events, and initiatives. You will work closely with the creative and marketing teams to amplify the brand and connect with students, families, and community partners.
What you'll do#
- Create and schedule social media content for platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
- Assist with content planning and brainstorming to support program promotion and special events.
- Monitor social media accounts for comments and engagement.
- Track basic engagement metrics and assist with simple reporting.
- Maintain an organized content library of photos, videos, and captions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a USF student residing on or near the Tampa campus.
- An active Federal Work Study award for the 2024–2025 academic year.
- Foundational understanding of social media platforms and current trends.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft clear captions.
- Basic experience creating digital content using tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Health, or Media Studies is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is based at the USF Tampa campus with a hybrid work modality.
- The schedule is flexible around class hours, typically within office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with occasional evening or weekend opportunities.
- You will work 15 to 20 hours per week.
