About the role#
The Office of Graduate Studies is seeking a Student Assistant to provide administrative and customer service support. This position involves cross-training across the Front Desk, Student Support Services, and Professional Development areas. This is a paid, part-time role for the Fall 2026 term, offering 12 to 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
What you'll do#
- Welcome visitors to the Office of Graduate Studies and assist walk-in traffic with inquiries.
- Triage and route telephone and email inquiries to the appropriate staff members.
- Assist with the preparation, coordination, setup, and cleanup of Graduate Studies events.
- Perform routine clerical tasks including photocopying, scanning, processing mail, and making campus deliveries.
- Support operations teams with various work projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- A valid Federal Work Study (FWS) Award for the employment period.
- Enrollment as a degree-seeking student taking at least six credit hours.
- Good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability, dependability, and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Preferred experience includes Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Bookings, social media management, and graphic design software such as Canva.
