About the role#
The Administrative Specialist provides high-level office and program support for Undergraduate Studies at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. This is a temporary, hourly position that reports to the Associate Director of College Readiness and Transfer Success. The incumbent must exercise discretion and judgment regarding communications and confidentiality while supporting university administrators.
What you'll do#
- Provide comprehensive office support, including answering inquiries via telephone and email, managing calendars, and making travel arrangements.
- Assist students and their guests with questions regarding admissions, advising, and campus resources.
- Prepare professional correspondence, reports, and presentation materials, including basic web content and promotional items.
- Plan and coordinate conferences and meetings.
- Provide support for purchasing, budgeting, and payroll processes.
- Supervise student and temporary employees.
- Conduct research to compile and maintain accurate data and records.
- Participate in campus events.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least four years of experience in an office or administrative support position (relevant college coursework or technical training may substitute for experience).
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency in standard desktop applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Ability to supervise student and temporary staff.
- Capacity to make independent judgments based on established operating guidelines.
- Successful completion of a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
