About the role#
Standiford Veterinary Center hosts veterinary students for clinical rotations. This program provides hands-on experience in a hybrid general practice and emergency setting. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff to build clinical confidence and prepare for your career. We welcome students from AVMA-accredited schools to gain experience in a facility that has held American Animal Hospital Association accreditation for over 20 years.
What you'll do#
- Participate in case discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
- Provide hands-on patient care across general practice, emergency, and specialty settings.
- Assist with surgical cases, dental procedures, and emergency care.
- Perform sick patient workups and routine medical appointments.
- Review exam findings and treatment plans with your supervising veterinarian.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a current student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
- Priority is given to students in their 3rd or 4th year and those on official clinical externship blocks.
