About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within the logistics and transportation department at United Launch Alliance. You will support experienced professionals in the daily operations of the aerospace industry, shadow active projects, and contribute to larger logistics assignments.
What you'll do#
- Interpret the Master Program Schedule and coordinate with production operations for critical moves.
- Use tracking tools to locate and schedule Ground Support Equipment movements.
- Work with the transportation scheduler to manage internal and external moves.
- Assist with the logistics of moving Solid Rocket Boosters into and out of storage.
- Support teams performing internal lifts, site-to-site moves, and supplier deliveries.
- Help manage contracts for trucking and lifting services.
What you'll need#
- Actively pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Completed at least your Sophomore year of college by the start of the internship.
- Minimum 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable motorized transportation.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations.
Location & details#
- Location: Decatur, Alabama.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time for at least 10 weeks.
- Enrollment: Must plan to be enrolled in classes for the Fall 2027 semester.
