About the role#
Ulteig is looking for a Structural Engineer Intern to join the Renewables team. You will support the design and development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering design while you work under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will receive clear instructions and the chance to contribute to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and preparation of construction plans for renewable energy projects.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians across different disciplines.
- Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D for plan production.
- Perform structural foundation analysis and design.
- Prepare design deliverables such as reports, plans, and permit documentation.
- Complete engineering calculations and develop standard details.
- Assist in the preparation of technical drawings.
- Support data collection or site assessments during field visits as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Coursework or experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, structural analysis, steel or concrete design, and geotechnical engineering.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Must be able to work full-time during Summer 2027.
- Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Locations include Greenwood Village, Colorado; St. Paul, Minnesota; Fargo, North Dakota; and St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
- Work can be performed remotely, hybrid, or on-site.
