About the role#
Ulteig is looking for a BIM Intern to join the Substation Renewables team for Summer 2027. You will work on utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage system projects. This role provides hands-on experience with 3D modeling and digital delivery workflows in a professional engineering environment.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for high-voltage substations.
- Create and standardize BIM templates, libraries, and project documentation.
- Configure digital delivery workflows for power infrastructure.
- Perform model coordination tasks, such as clash detection, data validation, and quality control.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design, BIM/CAD Technology, or related degree program.
- Familiarity with Revit or similar 3D modeling software is a plus.
- Interest in applying civil, structural, or electrical design principles to infrastructure projects.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027.
- Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Compensation: $20 to $22 per hour.
