About the role#
As an Engineering Intern, you will join one of our operating units: Built Environment, Energy and Industrial Automation, Engineered Materials, or Research and Development. You will complete a 10-12 week project while participating in networking, learning, and development opportunities. This is a paid, full-time summer 2027 internship.
What you'll do#
- Apply your engineering skills to real-world safety science projects.
- Collaborate with teams across our laboratories, simulation environments, and research facilities.
- Contribute to testing, inspection, and certification processes that support product innovation.
- Engage in professional development sessions to build your technical and industry knowledge.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising senior currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Textile Engineering, Chemistry, Fire Safety, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A motivated, self-starting approach to your work.
- Ability to perform in a results-oriented environment.
- You must have the indefinite right to work in the United States.
Location & details#
This internship is based in Northbrook, IL, Auburn Hills, MI, or Melville, NY. The role is hybrid, requiring three days per week on-site at the Northbrook or Melville offices.
