About the role#
The VALD Performance Science Fellowship is a one-year development opportunity designed to prepare early-career practitioners for roles in high-performance sports. Based at the National Training Center, the fellow will gain exposure to elite athlete preparation, applied research, and data analytics. This role bridges the gap between academic performance science and applied sport by integrating scientific rigor into practical athlete support.
What you'll do#
- Support athlete profiling, testing, and monitoring across National Team programs.
- Translate performance data into actionable insights for coaches and practitioners.
- Prepare performance dashboards and reports for multidisciplinary staff.
- Assist with athlete testing and monitoring using industry-leading technologies.
- Develop expertise in applied sports science within an elite international sporting environment.
What you'll need#
- A Master's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Performance Analytics, Data Science, or a related discipline (or completion by August 2026).
- General knowledge of soccer.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in demanding environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
