About the role#
This year-round internship supports the transportation network for fresh and frozen shipments, including rendered products. The role focuses on balancing service and cost to maintain on-time delivery while minimizing overall transportation expenses. You will work as a self-starter to solve problems and provide visibility to meet established business goals.
What you'll do#
- Support transportation projects focused on service improvement, visibility, process improvement, and workflow simplification.
- Execute projects related to mode of transportation optimization, service and cost initiatives, adaptable supply chains, end-to-end export visibility, and process improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Operations, Finance, Strategy, Procurement, Systems, Safety, Personnel, and Legal/Compliance.
- Meet with new and current stakeholders to drive initiatives.
- Execute projects that support the Export and Bulk Transportation business plan.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or MBA student with at least one year of school remaining.
- Preferred majors include Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Data Science, Agriculture, or Transportation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic, leadership skills, and the ability to work well in a team.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Springdale, Arkansas.
- Candidates must be within a commutable distance (60 miles or less) of the facility.
- This is an on-site, year-round role requiring 40 hours per week during the summer and 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year.
- Local or regional travel to plants and distribution centers may be required to support projects.
