About the role#
This is a full-time engineering internship based in North Jackson, Ohio, for the Summer 2027 term. You will spend 12 to 14 weeks working on manufacturing process improvements, focusing on automation and robotics integration. You will monitor process performance, design and layout assigned processes, and develop solutions for technical issues.
What you'll do#
- Implement manufacturing process improvements and automation.
- Collaborate with mentors to identify methods for automating processes.
- Use a structured engineering approach to deploy best practices for process control and yield improvement.
- Create or update process documentation, including work instructions, training guides, and certification tests.
- Provide weekly updates to the program coordinator and corporate leads.
- Compare existing manufacturing practices against industry benchmarks and propose improvements.
- Lead capital projects to address production capacity and technology capability issues.
- Present project updates to the local leadership team and participate in a corporate trade show for executives.
- Take part in internal design reviews to ensure compatibility of processing techniques.
What you'll need#
- Current college junior status pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Experience applying engineering concepts to solve problems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Skills in project management and structured problem solving.
- Capability to design and analyze experiments using statistical tools.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams.
- A data-based approach to decision making and an eagerness to learn.
- Previous internship experience is desired.
