About the role#
TSMC Arizona is seeking engineering interns for our advanced technology fab in Phoenix. You will work within various engineering departments to support semiconductor manufacturing. These roles require a commitment to our core values of integrity, commitment, innovation, and customer trust. You will work on-site, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to drive production goals.
What you'll do#
- Analyze electrical data and defect inspection results to identify root causes of manufacturing issues.
- Optimize production processes using experimental design, statistical methods, and data-driven analytics.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment in a cleanroom environment to ensure high tool performance and uptime.
- Support the installation of manufacturing equipment, including site assessments and coordination of timelines.
- Drive productivity through advanced technologies like Smart Scheduling, Precise Dispatching, and automated wafer transfer systems.
- Monitor fabrication processes and apply quality standards to ensure product success.
- Implement safety protocols, evaluate workplace hazards, and refine standard operating procedures.
- Tackle analytical projects involving machine vision, pattern recognition, and software development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. degree.
- Majors accepted: Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction.
- Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks on-site.
- Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, which includes wearing full gowning and spending significant time on the factory floor.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a self-motivated approach to learning.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and design is preferred.
